NoticiaPeregrinaciones Route 1-Center of Málaga: Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Incarnation Publicado: 07/03/2022: 3794 Entrances: Molina Lario St., n/n; and Císter St., n/n, 29015 Málaga History of the temple: The Cathedral of the Incarnation, the mother church of all others in the Diocese, was consecrated in 1588. Its construction lasted until the end of the 18th Century. It combines Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque styles. It has a noticeable artistic heritage, being the choir stalls one of the most significant, most of all carved by Pedro de Mena between 1658 and 1660. Of similar artistic value there are the two pipe organs, built by Julián de la Orden, newly branded respectively in 1781 and 1782. Also very interesting are other works by Pedro de Mena, Alonso de Mena, Fernando Ortiz, Alonso Cano, Claudio Coello, Julio Simonet, Manrique, etc. Still unfinished on the outside, the temple is one the tallest in Europe.
